The Sky View County Water District is a public entity serving a population of less than 300. Located in Tehama County, 32 miles East of Red Bluff, California on State Highway 36 East, we are in the Cascade Mountain Range foothills at an average elevation of 3500 feet.
Our small rural community enjoys a diverse four season climate and picturesque views of the northern Imperial Valley, Mount Shasta, Mount Lassen, and Battle Creek Canyon.
Several years ago, community leaders recognized
the need for the creation of a community water district. The water system, which has been in existence since the early 1960's, is in dire need of rehabilitation and basic improvements. Compliance with standards mandated by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) enacted by Congress in 1977 are a major issue.
Resolving these issues are the primary focus of the District.
A professional consulting Team has been developed which assists the District in meeting the requirements to qualify for funding of the water system project; to be prepared with adequate training and to have the necessary policies in place for reliable operation and maintenance of the water system..
The Board of Directors have established a working relationship with Local, State and Federal agencies; and have set a goal for completion of the project in the next two years.
The Sky View County Water District, built on a solid foundation, for the community, run by the community, will serve the community for generations.
We have been workiing hard to establish a water district that represents the communties needs, now and far into the future.
